Comenius is part of the Lifelong Learning Programme. Comenius provides funded opportunities for schools and colleges to introduce or strengthen the European dimension in their curriculum through creating partnerships with other educational institutions and professional development. The new Comenius Regio partnerships allow local authorities to participate directly.
Erasmus is the European Commission's flagship educational programme for Higher Education students, teachers and institutions. It encourages student and staff mobility for work and study, and promotes trans-national co-operation projects among institutions across Europe. Both teaching and administrative staff can take part in the Erasmus programme provided that their institution holds an Erasmus University Charter(EUC).
Run by the British Council in collaboration with the US Department of State the programme offers outstanding UK teachers the opportunity to trade places with an American teacher
Lecturer's International Professional Development (LIPD) is a programme aimed exclusively at Further Education lecturers and managers in Wales. This gives Further Education lecturers in Wales the opportunity to experience good educational practice in different countries around the world.
