Sŵn
A three day showcase of some of the best music from Wales and from around the world.

What is it?
Swn is a three day showcase of some of the best music from Wales and from around the world alongside DJs, film and art, held throughout Cardiff. The event was started by DJ Huw Stephens.

When does it take place?
The third annual Swn Festival takes place in Cardiff this year from Thursday 22nd until Saturdayday 24th October 2009, in over a dozen venues, with over 100 bands performing.

What does it offer?
The festival uses a wristband system which offers free access to as many shows as possible, plus art exhibitions, film and last year also into three one day music conferences during Thursday, Friday and Saturday. A wristband also entitles the wearer to discounts in stores in Cardiff (to be confirmed), and free rides on the Swn buses across town over the main Swn weekend.

The event will feature bands from both Wales and across the world, as well as DJs, film and art. There will be lots of different genres from hip hop to indie, folk, dance and rock. Due to a noise abatement order there will be no live music at Ten Feet Tall venue.

Other events expected at the festival include a silent disco, cinema, workshops, and art exhibitions.
