Already seen by over 125,000 people across Europe, tabú brings together theatre, dance, live music, and circus to create a joyous promenade production in which the action takes place above, amongst, and around the audience.
"tabú poses the question: why is it that humans choose the dark side? Or is it the dark side that chooses us? tabú is a new journey and exploration into the darker side of being. It isn’t a freak show, it isn’t voyeurism. It is the tissue we are made of and which like death itself we cannot fully grasp, let alone explain."
Nofit State's visit to Montreal's first international circus Festival and the home of Cirque Eloise and Cirque du Soleil is funded by Wales Arts International and the British Council.
"A vividly entertaining and tumultuous new promenade production" - The Times, UK
‘Cirque Du Soleil without the Disney and the disinfectant... this is the future of British Circus.’- The Guardian
This is an adventurous initiative by Nofit State Circus and comes from hard work and determination in building relationships internationally. Having prepared the way over several years, including joining a delegation from Wales to CINARS in Montreal two years ago, it is wonderful that the company is raising the profile of Wales and developing market opportunities in a new context in North America.
We are delighted that the festival itself has offered such good support to Nofit State Circus, alongside the support from Wales Arts International and British Council.
