Saturday 29th January 2011, Taliesin Arts Centre, Swansea 10.00am - 5.30pm, £15 (freelancers), £25 (organisations)
Emergence is a series of creative, interactive conferences for people working in the arts in Wales. It's an opportunity to network, share ideas, ask questions and get tools for a more sustainable practice; to celebrate the questioning spirit of art and determine how artists can make a difference in these times of ecological, economic and social instability.
The initiative has two main themes: developing a low-carbon arts infrastructure, including the management and development of venues; and developing the role of the arts as a crucible of ideas and visions for a low-carbon, One Planet Wales. At Taliesin we shall focus on the theme of interconnectivity.
Guest Speaker: - founder and Director of Programmes of the Schumacher College international centre for ecological studies.
- The day will also include presentations by Judith Knight (Arts Admin), Tom Andrews (People United), Axel Tangerding (Meta Theater, Munich) and Lucy Neal OBE (Transition Town Tooting).
- Plus guest artist and opportunities to meet and share ideas and experience.
