A very good news that Vietnam has been included in 25 countries eligible for the new Development Partnerships in Higher Education programme (DEPHE), a replacement of the current HEL schemes. It is hoped that the new programme would be started in January 2006. Further information on the new programme will be announced shortly.
A Regional HE Linhs Workshop organised at Hanoi Melia Hotel on 27 and 28 October 2005. The event is aimed to celebrate the success of the scheme over the past 25 years and to facilitate the network between specialists in the region and the UK in order to open up opportunities for future collaboration beyond the link regime. Over 50 Region and UK link co-ordinators (including previous and current links) attended the workshop. They are from Indonesia, Thailand, Philippine, the United Kingdom and Vietnam. Watch this space for further update on this exciting event.
