With the purpose of raising environmental awareness, the British Council Vietnam sponsored by Exotissimo Travel is organising a “How Green is your City” photographic competition.

Participant eligibility: Participants must be 16 or over to enter the competition.
The competition:

Entrants will take a photo of something in their city and write a 20 word caption in English about its relationship to the environment. Photos and captions need to be e-mailed to the following address: howgreenisyourcity@britishcouncil.org.vn by 30th November 2010. |

 |
Photos can either portray something that is environmentally positive or negative in the city and captions need to clearly state the effect on the environment. See the photo above for an example. |

Add your photo as an attachment to an email, one photo per person and the photo must be 9MB maximum in size to allow your message get through our system |

Competition Rules

Entrants must include their name, DOB, home address and phone number and their ID number. |

Entries must be the original work of the person or people submitting the entry and must not contain any third party materials or content. The British Council will not be responsible for breach of any copyright or other third party rights by the entrants. However, if you are the top winners, we may ask you to provide evidence to prove that the photo was actually taken by yourselves but not someone else |

The Entrant shall retain all ownership rights in any entry to the “How Green is your city” competition. However, by submitting the entry the Entrant grants the Organiser a universal, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable and transferable licence to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, adapt, reformat, translate and otherwise exploit and perform all or any portion of the Entry for any purpose whatsoever, including, without limitation, in connection with promotion of the British Council and “I am Green” activities in any and all media formats and through any and all media distribution, advertising and promotional purposes without accounting, notification, credit or other obligation to the Entrant. Entrants further agree that the Competition Organiser may edit and manipulate the content of the Entry for operational and editorial reasons provided this is not to the detriment of the Entrant’s character or reputation. |

By entering, any subsequent prize winners agree to allow, and consent to, British Council and Exotissimo use of, and right to publish, entrant’s name, photographs, images, all personal and other information (including general locations) for purposes of British Council promotional and news purposes (including use in printed publications, editorial and PR activities, on websites) related to this competition. |

Photos not submitted in accordance with the organisers’ regulations will be disqualified |

The organisers’ decision on all matters will be final |

Winners will be notified by telephone or email. All reasonable efforts will be made to contact the winners. If the winners cannot be contacted after all reasonable efforts, the Competition Organiser will select the next best entry as the winner. |
