FCE is the third of five levels in the Cambridge Main Suite of English language exams. It corresponds to Council of Europe level B2 and the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE0 level 3
WHAT THE EXAM INVOLVES?
There are five parts to the exam, each worth 40 marks
Paper 1 Reading 1 hour and 15 minutes
Paper 2 Writing 1 hour and 30 minutes
Paper 3 Use of english 1 hour and 15 minutes
Paper 4 Listening 40 minutes
Paper 5 Speaking 14 minutes

GETTING YOUR RESULTS
All written papers are sent to Cambridge to be marked and results are released approximately eith weeks after the exam date. They will first be sent to the British Council and we will then forward them to your home address.
There are three passing grades: A,B and C anf two failing grades: D and E
A candidate needs to obtain about 60 to 65 per cent of the total marks in order to obtain a C grade. There is no minimum pass mark for the individual papers.
