KET - Key English Test
PET - Preliminary English Test
FCE - First Certificate in English
CAE - Certificate of Advanced English
CPE - Certificate of Proficiency in English
CPE - CERTIFICATE OF PROFICIENCY IN ENGLISH

WHY DO CPE?

The Certificate of Proficiency in English is accepted by almost all universities and colleges in Britain and many others throughout the world, as proof that the learner has reached a level of English suitable for entry to courses of higher education or post-graduate study. It is also recognised by professional bodies and in commerce and industry as an indication of a very high level of competence in English.

By passing this exam you demonstrate that you are approaching the linguistic competence of an educated native English speaker and that you can cope well in an English-speaking environment. This is personally very satisfying, but also gives you a qualification that is extremely attractive to employers.

CPE is the highest of five levels in the Cambridge Main Suite of English language exams. It corresponds to Council of Europe level C2 and the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE) Level 5.
