I grew up in the picturesque town of Harrogate, in the north of England, before moving to Manchester at the age of 18. Living in a big city fit me perfectly and I spent 3 great years studying History at University and one terrible year working in a call centre. Having tired of English weather (and working in a call centre) I decided it was time to pack up and move to sunny Barcelona, where I completed my CELTA and spent one glorious year teaching English, learning Spanish and enjoying siestas. In 2007 I decided it was time for a change and relocated across the globe to Vietnam. I spent a year teaching at a school in HCMC before coming to the British Council in August this year.
