Why study with us

The UK is a world leader in English language teaching and for 75 years the British Council has been delivering high quality English courses to professionals, students and young learners around the world.

Whether you want to improve your career prospects, get a place at a top university, enjoy English films, music and culture, surf the net or make new friends at home and abroad, we can help you achieve your goals.

A British Council English course will give you the confidence and skills you need to communicate effectively in English and by choosing the British Council you can be sure that you are choosing the best.

A WORLD AUTHORITY IN ENGLISH TEACHING

Over the last 75 years, the British Council has established a reputation as a world authority in English language teaching. In designing and delivering our courses, we can draw on the experience and expertise of over 2,000 teachers and a network of almost 100 Teaching Centres in over 50 countries.

The British Council has been operating in Vietnam since 1993 and has Teaching Centres in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Together, these two centres provide courses that are carefully designed to meet the needs of almost 13,000 adult and young learner students every year.

EXPERIENCED AND QUALIFIED TEACHERS

At the British Council, our teachers are all highly qualified ELT professionals with a wealth of international teaching experience.

We expect our teachers to demonstrate a commitment to their own professional development and provide support for this through training, classroom observation and a performance management system that is designed to encourage learning and creativity.

Of course professionalism would be nothing without the passion and dedication that our teachers bring to their work teaching you. If you want to know more, you can meet our teachers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

WELL-DESIGNED COURSES AND QUALITY LEARNING RESOURCES

Our courses are all carefully designed to meet the real-world needs of our students and use the latest teaching and learning resources. Our approach to teaching is student-centred and we make principled use of a range of proven teaching methodologies to make sure that you enjoy and benefit from your course.

In Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, all adult and young adult students have free access to our Information Centres, where you can study or relax and experience the best of UK culture and media by watching English films, listening to music or reading magazines and newspapers.

STATE OF THE ART LEARNING FACILITIES

As well as qualified and experienced teachers, the British Council is committed to providing you with state of the art premises and the latest in learning resources.

Our classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboard technology in Hanoi and with a computer in HCMC. Teachers have access to wireless laptop computers for use in the classroom. As well as providing instant access to a huge bank of teaching resources, this technology allows us to make use of digital course materials and provide big-screen classroom access to the Internet along with surround sound.

YOUR GATEWAY TO THE BEST OF CONTEMPORARY UK CULTURE, ARTS AND SCIENCE

We are more than just a teaching and exams centre. Our other teams regularly organise cultural events, science lectures and education fairs in Vietnam.
