Schools from the UK apply each year to partner with schools in British Council regions including sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East and North Africa, South Asia, East Asia, and Latin America. Selection of the partner schools is made in country in consultation with ministries of education and education authorities.

The schools link to carry out joint projects that increase pupils' knowledge and understanding of each other's societies, and for professional development and sharing teaching practice.
