Primary students in Hanoi expressed their love of football in celebration of the 2010 World Cup

During the last week of May 2010, hundreds of students from three Primary schools: Nam Thanh Cong, Thuc Nghiem and Doan Thi Diem demonstrated their creative drawing talent in a drawing competition 'Football and me'.

The competition was organised by the British Council aiming to provide an outlet for students' creativity in telling everyone what football means to them. Fifteen of the best pictures were selected for display in the charity event - Hanoi Football Festival, on the opening day of the World Cup, 11 June 2010. The three winning pictures will be immortalised as mosaics on the Dyke Road Mural - a donation from New Hanoi Arts to celebrate the 1000 years of Thang Long – Hanoi. In addition to this, each of the participating schools will receive thousands of dollars worth of sporting and arts equipment as a donation from the Pepperonis group, as well as celebratory party events with food and drink at their schools in September.
