Peter Hunt, Professor Emeritus in Children's Literature at Cardiff University, and the five authors of Dall'ABC a Harry Potter: Storia della letteratura inglese per l'infanzia e la gioventù (BUP, 2011) discuss with the audience their new and original text, the first on children's literature in English-speaking countries to be published in Italy. They will offer a journey starting with medieval children's texts and leading to modern and contemporary authors like Tolkien and Rowling. All sorts of issues concerning children's literature will be broached and the discourse will be broadened to include other recently published texts, which document both the increasing interest in the field and its potential for teachers of English language and literature. Presentation by: Mariangela Mosca Bonsignore (University of Turin), Francesca Orestano (University of Milan), Elena Paruolo (University of Salerno), Alessandra Petrina (University of Padua), and Laura Tosi (University of Venice). |
