Are you planning to study or train abroad? Are you applying to an institution and need to prove your level of English? Do you need to raise your standard in English? Then we can help you with the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is an English language test, which assesses the ability of the candidate in four skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking. There is an option of either Academic or General Training Reading and Writing Modules. The Academic module is suitable for candidates planning to undertake higher education study. General Training is for candidates planning to undertake non-academic training or work experience or for immigration purposes.
IELTS is accepted by most UK, Australian, Canadian and New Zealand academic institutions. In the United States it is increasingly gaining recognition as an alternative to TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language).
Choose the Academic Reading and Writing module if you are planning to undertake academic study in a higher education institution.
If you are planning to undertake non-academic training or work experience, or apply for immigration to Australia, Canada or New Zealand, we recommend you take the General Training Reading and Writing modules.
You will be tested in listening, reading, writing and speaking whichever module you decide to take. If you are unsure of which module to take, you can discuss this with our exams officer.
Fees for the exam are payable in Uzbek soum. Please check with our reception for current rates or contact us.
We run tests on monthly basis. The test takes place in Tashkent, there are no exam centres outside Tashkent. Find out when you can take your test.
We will let you know where the test will take place one week before the test date.
Tests usually begin at 12.00. You will take the Writing, Reading and Listening papers together. The writing and reading papers last for 60 minutes each and the listening paper for 30 minutes.
The Speaking test is taken separately and lasts for about 15 minutes. You will receive confirmation of your time slot for this test from our exams team on the day of the exam.
You will receive your results within 13 calendar days after the test date. Results will be given to you as a Test Report Form (TRF). You will only get one copy of the TRF and up to 5 copies can be sent to receiving universities/organisations upon your request. All results must be collected in person, if you are based outside Tashkent, we can send your results by post. Please let us know if you prefer the latter. Download or read through a copy of the IELTS handbook for more detailed information.
Please note that from November 28, 2007 the test results are available online
Our Learning Centre keeps materials which will help you to prepare for the exam.
