Christmas and New Year Story Competition

Take part in our competition and win prizes!

British Council Best Christmas Story competition facilitated the creativity around the story writing and the rose interest in the British Council LearnEnglish website.

We are happy to announce that the Snow Man story by Lyudmila Kamalova from Tashkent was awarded the 1st place:

The children were working hard. When they had finished, Snowman was able to see and talk. But the kids went home and he stayed alone. (the) Snowflakes were dancing in the air and he heard them laughing. He felt happy. “Tomorrow the children will play with me again,” he thought.     

2nd place was awarded to Magic Christmas Meeting story by Feruza Marsova from Nukus

Six hours left till New Year.

Two people entered into the lift cabin.

He – a courageous man despising woman.

She – tender girl believing that she, Aquarius, would be always alone so didn`t try to establish relationship with man.

Blackout….Lift stopped.Six talking hours…Happiness in eyes of two people…

3rd place was awarded to New Year’s Present story by Dilmurad Djumabaev from Namangan:

I envied children from movies that got Christmas presents.  Every year I waited for New Year in the hope that I would also get something under the fir decorated, but my dreams never come true.  Now, I understand, the best present was just my dream, left for the next year.
