UK WRITER-IN-RESIDENCE
INTERNATIONAL WRITING PROGRAM
UNIVERSITY OF IOWA
SEPTEMBER 5 TO OCTOBER 14, 2011

Scottish novelist Zoë Strachan traveled to Iowa fall 2011 as the latest UK artist to participate in the British Council's UK Writer-in-Residence Program. As part of our partnership with the University of Iowa’s International Writing Program, Strachan shared her work with University's literary community, engaged with other writers from around the world and contributed to public events in Iowa.

Zoë joined other contemporary British artists as part of an ongoing literature initiative at major American universities. Read more about the UK Writer-in-Residence Program in our special feature.
In fall 2010, Zoë and Louise Welsh (also a resident artist at Iowa this fall) co-authored the play Panic Patterns. Learn more about this collaboration in their interview with The Scotsman.
Listen to our chat with Zoë on the British Council Voices blog.
Zoe's residency made Huffington Post headlines
