Marshall Scholarships allow up to 45 young Americans to study in the United Kingdom for two years. This annual scholarship was first established by the British government in 1953 to celebrate the implementation of the European Recovery Program (Marshall Plan.) The Marshall Scholarship has played and continues to play an important role in strengthening the unique relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States.
