The following organizations offer advice and information on private education in the UK:

  • The Independent Schools Council Information Service
    provides information and impartial advice on 1300 member schools for children aged 2 to 19. Its web site offers a comprehensive guide to independent education in the UK with full details on more than 1,300 schools. ISIS publishes Choosing Your Independent School, an annual directory of all ISIS member schools, which can be purchased via their web site.
  • Gabbitas, an independent educational consultancy, offers individual and impartial advice on all levels of education from age 5 upwards. The web site includes information on guidance services that are available for overseas students. Gabbitas produces The Gabbitas Guide to Independent Schools, an annual directory of over 2,200 boarding and day schools in the UK.
  • The Good Schools Guide Advisory Service is an independent and impartial consultancy run by the authors of The Good Schools Guide. This book provides general information as well as detailed entries on independent and state schools and can be ordered via their site.
  • The Independent Schools of the United Kingdom is an online directory of independent schools in the UK.
  • The Boarding Schools' Association is an organization of over 170 boarding schools across the UK that offers an information service on member boarding schools.
