Fee status: definitions of home and overseas students
Tuition

There are two fee levels for UK students: home and overseas. Students in the US are normally classified as overseas students, regardless of nationality. If you are uncertain about your status, check the full fee regulations.

While overseas fees are more expensive than home fees, they are still less than the cost of most US private universities.

Tuition fees, which cover the cost of instruction and other academic services, vary by institution. The latest average figures are:

  • £6,500 - £10,000 (convert currency) per year for an undergraduate arts degree
  • £7,000 - £13,000 per year for an undergraduate science degree
  • £6,500 - £11,000 per year for a graduate arts degree
  • £7,500 - £14,000 per year for a graduate science degree
  • £7,500 - £16,000 per year for an M.B.A.
  • From £11,500 per year for a clinical medicine degree (undergraduate or graduate)

All figures are in Great British Pounds (convert currency to dollars). You should contact your university for its exact fees.
