Most UK scholarships are merit-based and competitive. You can search for scholarships in our Scholarship Database.

It's important to begin your search as soon as you decide to study in the UK, as deadlines can occur as early as 12 months before the start of your course.

Also note that most scholarships available are at the graduate, not undergraduate, level. It is very common for undergraduate students to fund their studies through loans and private resources.

If you are a very recent graduate of a US university, you may be eligible to apply for a Marshall Scholarship, which covers the tuition and living expenses for at least two years at a UK university.

While we do not provide funding, we do maintain a database of scholarships and provide suggestions on the best places to look for funding.

HOW TO SEARCH FOR A SCHOLARSHIP

  • First, look to our Scholarship Database. This database is the only place on the web that lists scholarships just for US citizens who want to study in the UK.

  • Contact the UK universities where you are applying to see if they have extra funding information.

  • Contact your US university or high school to see if it has funding resources specific to its students.

  • Check out other scholarship databases. Good ones include The SmartStudent Guide to Financial Aid, StudentMoney and Michigan State University Funding Center.
