What We Do
Our Arts Work in the US

Our work in the US promotes a wider knowledge and appreciation of contemporary Britain by highlighting the creative output of the most innovative UK artists today. Our arts work has several dimensions:

We connect Americans to the UK arts scene by offering advice and up-to-date information on arts across the pond, and also by participating in the initial planning and development of arts projects. Find out more about the exciting work we do in the fields of theater, dance, music, visual arts and design, film and literature.
We work on collaborative projects in the US. Our US arts office (based in Washington, DC), along with the British Council's Arts Group in the UK, promotes cooperation between UK and American arts professionals. We are able to assist in making contacts in the UK, help with the publicity of an event, and sometimes provide limited financial support for specific partnerships. Look to Working With Us for more information.
We answer questions. See our Arts FAQs for immediate information about our cultural work in this country and resources available for you.
