Poet and performer Nii Ayikwei Parkes was the latest UK writer to participate in British Council UK Writer-in-Residence program at California State University, Los Angeles. While at Cal State L.A. in the spring of 2007, Nii lectured, taught and held public readings in the Los Angeles area.

Nii joins other contemporary British literary stars as part of an ongoing initiative at major American universities. Read more about the UK Writer-in-Residence program in our special feature.
