What roles can writers and artists play in society? What perspectives on current and historical issues do they bring to bear as intellectuals and creative thinkers? Acclaimed British novelist Howard Jacobson screens his film Creation, part of the Channel 4 miniseries The Bible: A History, interrogating literary, theological, and scientific perspectives on the first chapter of Genesis, asking why the creation story continues to stir the imagination. After the film, Howard conducts a Q&A in conversation with Roger Bennett, co-founder of Reboot, a network of young Jewish creatives, and author of And You Shall Know Us by the Trail of Our Vinyl and Bar Mitzvah Disco. Free and open to the public. |
