Diran spoke at Black British Aesthetics Today at Howard University on April 8, 2006, a symposium concerning contemporary black British culture. Professionals, scholars and writers participated in this multidisciplinary gathering which focused on the artistic aspirations and accomplishments of contemporary British artists across art forms.
