Will Science across the World project help Crimean schoolchildren and teachers not only to establish contacts with other schools in the world but also to preserve the unique flora and fauna of the sunny peninsula? We very much hope so after the series of promotional seminars held in Kerch and Sudak on 7-10th September.
Two consultants, Julia Panchyzhna, the teacher trainer, and Alexander Vakulenko, the technical and IT consultant, talked to English and content teachers, deputy heads, school masters, methodologists and local media representatives about the BC activities in Ukraine, the SAW project, the Biodiversity Around Us topic as well as other related BC projects, like the Traveling Computer, and taught the local teachers to use Internet in order to open an e-mail account and register for the project.
The response from the local teaching community was amazing. We want to thank our local volunteer coordinators Elena Menshakova (Kerch) and Kerime Seutova (Sudak) for their help in the seminar organization and their willingness to participate actively in the SAW project and further promote it among other Crimean teachers.
