We can also offer teaching company employees in our regular public groups.
We offer three regular terms throughout the year:
- autumn regular term (3 months, September – December)
- winter regular term (3 months, January – March)
- spring regular term (3 months, April – mid-July)
Classes are held once, twice or three times a week for two clock (60 min) hours (total 4 clock hours per week) in different time slots.
We offer two intensive terms in summer lasting for 3 weeks in July and August. Classes are held every day Monday through Friday for three clock hours throughout a day.
Please find the dates of terms for the year 2008
Our work with corporate employees in public groups follows a five-stage model:
- placement testing
- placement report
- agreement/invoice
- continuous assessment during the course
- feedback:
mid-term attendance report end-of-term progress report
- certificates
Testing and tuition take place at the British Council, where we have 9 equipped classrooms. Students will also have the opportunity to join our Resource and Information Centre as well as English Speaking Club and Creative Writing Club on a free basis. Our students are also involved in other British Council activities.
Course types — General English, Business English, English for Lawyers , International exams preparation classes. While General English courses are given at all levels, Business English courses are offered at pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper-intermediate and advanced levels. English for Lawyers is offered at upper-intermediate level. They are designed to enable business people and students of business to practise a variety of business communication skills. At all levels the lessons are conducted entirely in English, in order to improve students' communicative ability.
We provide a company with a placement report, which is based on test results. The placement report shows days and times of classes indicating the first date of studies.
An agreement is signed before the start of the course after the company has been informed about the placement results. The company is invoiced for the entire 48-hour course after the agreement is signed.
The price of one term (48 clock hours) of studying English per student is 2750 UAH. The payment can be made at the cashier’s desk at the British Council or via bank transfer in pounds to our London account at the British Council’s exchange rate. The cost of books is not included in tuition fees
We operate a system of continuous assessment whereby students receive counselling and guidance based upon their performance in class and at home. We will provide the company with a mid-term attendance report. At the end of the course each student receives a report including the course grade received, comments made by the teacher on a student's performance and recommendations for future studies. Copies of these reports are also sent to the company's management.
In addition, upon successful completion of an entire level (false beginners, elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper-intermediate), students will receive a British Council certificate.
