During their first session the participants from Ukrainian and Georgia worked with the Royal Court Team – UK playwrights April de Angelis and Nick Payne and the head of the Royal Court International programme Elyse Dodgson, on the beginnings of what would be their new play. The stakes are high as the final work has a real chance of being staged at the Royal Court in London. The first session was focused on a theme, conflict and main characters for the new play. Using every day Tbilisi life as a testing ground the young playwrights were developing their ability to see, hear and write about the world around them.

'I was genuinely impressed by how Ukrainians were criticising their country while Georgians were defending Ukraine and vice versa when Georgians were pointing out their problems Ukrainians were able to find only positives. Having spent a few days together with my Georgian colleagues I understood that our problems are quite similar', said project participant Vira Makoviy.

'About my time in Georgia I can say that for a whole week I was absolutely, one hundred percent happy. I love all – Georgians, my fellow Ukrainians and Brtish!', exclaimed Oksana Savchenko.
