- promote and maintain personal, professional and cultural relations between members, both in Uganda and in the UK.
- share information on the cultural life in both countries
- promote and participate in British and Ugandan cultural and educational activities in both countries
- encourage and enable interaction between members of the Association, and between members and education representatives who come to Uganda.
- advise and counsel Ugandan students who go to the UK, and in the same way assist British students who come to Uganda.
- identify the best training opportunities for Ugandan students seeking to study in the UK, and ensure information about opportunities is distributed regularly to members.
- promote and share information resources available from private or official sources in both countries.
- provide a forum for academic debate on matters affecting Uganda and the UK.
- promote and encourage good governance in all aspects of Uganda's life
- do everything possible for or conducive to the achievement of above goals.
The UBAA is comprised of the General Assembly of members, the board of trustees, the secretariat and any number of committees set up by the General Assembly on the recommendation of the board of Trustees. Its patrons include the British High Commissioner to Uganda and Uganda's High Commissioner to the UK.
