Joint Postgraduate Scholarships

As well as the standard Chevening scholarships we also have a joint funded scheme.

BRITISH JOINT POST-GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS - CHEVENING / KULIKA / LEEDS UNIVERSITY
The British High Commission, British Council and Kulika Charitable Trust invite applications for five scholarships which are jointly funded by the Kulika Charitable Trust, University of Leeds and the British Government’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office. These scholarships are tenable ONLY at the University of Leeds for the UK academic year 2007/08. The Awards are usually for twelve months postgraduate study.

Minimum requirements:

Uganda citizens, usually under 35 years of age
Ability to demonstrate a commitment to pursuing a career in Uganda
Have the ability and personality to rise to the top of their chosen profession
A minimum of three years work experience
Excellent undergraduate degree usually 1st or 2:1(Upper Second)

Areas of study:
To be eligible for Kulika/Leeds scheme potential scholars must be applying to study at the University of Leeds only in one of the following areas: development studies, engineering, environmental studies, finance, communication studies, education or gender.

The applications deadline for this year 2007/2008 is  Friday 22 December 2006.  Only short-listed applicants will be contacted.

How do I apply?
You will be required to download applications forms from this website orwww.chevening.com.  This scholarship follows the same application procedure as the standard Chevening scholarship.

Other than in exceptional circumstances, only forms which are typed will be considered.

Applications for MBA programmes will not be considered for these scholarships.
