What we have done so far

Our projects under this category were designed to support capacity building for state institutions and civil society organisations in areas relating to EU accession, with a special focus on social inclusion, human rights and democracy.

Project Period: April 2005 - March 2006
Aim: To promote an approach where citizenship courses at elementary and secondary schools are taught in a contemporary style and where students are encouraged to take an active part in the society

English Language Training for Ministry of Interior and NGO Representatives

Campaigning to Prevent Non-Judicial Punishments and Executions named as Honour Crimes
Project Period: April 2004 - September 2005
Aim: To prevent non-judicial punishments and executions through developing strategies and tools for effective campaigning and lobbying with a multi-agency approach

Integrated Dance

Project Period: April 2003 - September 2005
Aim: To raise awareness of the rights of disabled people through integrated dance with the support and experience of the UK.

Promoting Multi-Agency Approaches within the Juvenile Justice System

Project Period: May 2003 – March 2005
Aim: To achieve greater effectiveness of organisations working in the juvenile justice system through the promotion of change management and multi-agency working.

Jandarma Training in Juvenile Justice

Project Period: April 2003 - March 2004
Aim: To build capacity within the Jandarma regarding juvenile justice issues and to enable them to participate effectively in the larger inter-agency juvenile justice project

Tackling Women Trafficking

Project Period: June 2002 - March 2003
Aim: To develop strategies for tackling women trafficking with a multi-agency approach through organising study visits to border countries and devising training programmes for Turkish authorities

Promoting Effective Participation of Women in Society in the South Eastern Anatolia Project (GAP) Region

Aim: To develop the capacity of women’s groups to devise strategies for campaigning for women’s rights, and to support them to establish income generating projects for entrepreneurship

Training for Public Prosecutors in Prison Management

Forensic Science Training for the Jandarma

Training for Prison Governors

Aim: To provide a management and human rights training course for prison governors in Turkey in order to increase their awareness of and to encourage greater compliance with the European Convention on Human Rights in Turkish prisons

Training for Human Rights NGOs

Inclusion of Disadvantaged Children in Education

Project Period: 2005 - 2006
Aim: This project aims to develop a guideline for school principles in order to  help them introduce inclusive policies and strategies for disadvantaged children.
