International Inspiration is an international legacy project of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It aims to enrich the lives of 12 million children and young people of all abilities, in schools and communities across 20 countries worldwide, through the power of high quality and inclusive physical education, sport and play.
In Turkey, the project is now being piloted in Mersin, Trabzon and Ankara.
Globally, the project key delivery partners are British Council, Youth Sport Trust, UNICEF UK and UK Sport with a range of other supporting partners including the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), the Department for International Development (DFID), the British Olympic Association (BOA) British Olympic Foundation (BOF) and, of course, the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG).
The main aim of the project is to make a difference in the lives of all disadvantaged children including those with disabilities, and the children and young people of all abilities. The project plans to achieve this aim by effectively using high quality and inclusive physical education, sport and play in schools and communities through the support of teachers, community leaders and volunteers.
