It is a pleasure for us to announce 10 finalists of the FameLab competition after two days of HEAT that took place on 15 and 17 April 2008 at METU Culture and Convention Centre.

Please click here to find out the list of 10 finalists who have demonstrated their performance on the Final on 6 May 2008. The FameLab Final has been recorded by NTV and will be televised on 19 May 2008.

Based on the model originally created by the UK's Cheltenham Science Festival, the idea of the competition is to take science out of the classroom and make it fun, and to encourage young people with a passion for science and technology to share their enthusiasm with the general public.

FameLab, a UK talent competition, was established in 2005 and aims to find the best new talent in science communication. In 2007 it goes international for the very first time, with competitions in nine countries in South-East Europe organised through our own network.

In Turkey we are worked in partnership with Middle East Technical University Science and Society Centre in organising FameLab 2008.The Heat s and the Final of the competition took place in Culture and Congress Centre in METU.
