Project Activities

Turkish Climate advocates have started in July 2009, to work collaboratively on ideas to contribute to the climate change debate. The first meeting took place in Ankara.

Generating Project Ideas

The Turkish Climate Advocates gathered for the first time in Ankara on 11 July. The first meeting served for the Advocates to get to know one another and generate project ideas that would contribute to the climate change debate.

The Advocates worked  together for the past two months  for  projects plans on raising awareness through the establishment of a web site, and climate education plus some project ideas  emerged ( such as recycling waste into bio-energy in rural Turkey, calculating Carbon footprints of specific sectors and effective use of solar energy in heating and lighting), and art oriented activities. The group met once again in September.

Deciding on the themes

Over the last two months Turkish Climate Advocates have been exchanging ideas on possible project ideas thru web and thru working collaboratively to identify the key areas where they think they can make a real difference to carbon use and develop their ideas.

Participants from Ankara and Istanbul gathered for the 2nd time via video conference, which was facilitated by a professional moderator.

Participants first have started the day by listing their project ideas in line with the general themes.

The project ideas listed below and will be converted in project plan documents during two-day workshop in late October. Until that time advocates will be researching/contacting/networking more about specific ideas.
