BRITISH COUNCIL GLOBAL TEACHING SPEAKING SKILLS TO LARGE CLASSES COURSE

BRITISH COUNCIL GLOBAL TEACHING SPEAKING SKILLS TO LARGE CLASSES COURSE

“The best way to promote efficient language learning is to establish the target language as the language of instruction. To do this we need to build up learners’ ability to work with speech.”

Dave Willis

Our Teaching Speaking Skill to Large Classes Course aims to help you as teachers of English to reflect on and develop your skills in teaching speaking and to consolidate your skills as reflective practitioners in the speaking classroom in the end of 25 hours.

Our workshops are very practical in nature and involve viewing the techniques being used by experienced teachers in the classroom. The programme encourages you to reflect on your teaching speaking skills and explore new ways of looking at what happens in the EFL speaking classroom with a critical eye.

Who can participate?
This programme aims to help teachers of English at all levels, who would like to refresh their understanding of teaching speaking skills to their learners. The main focus is on large classes.

This course consists of a book of materials and a DVD featuring real examples of teaching speaking to primary and secondary students. Each unit focuses on an important element in the teaching of speaking skills. The activities help you think about how you teach speaking skills and develop your own thinking and practice.
