TeachingEnglish Blogathon
If you have any questions about the TeachingEnglish Blogathon that we haven’t covered, please feel free to post your questions on our British Council Turkey ELT Facebook group. You may find that your colleagues are also having the same problems, and by asking, you'll be helping everyone.

Is there a prize for all contributors?

All contributors will be featured on the British Council Turkey’s website and e-bulletin. There are three award categories throughout this activity: Gold Award, Silver award and Bronze Award. Find out more about the Awards Scheme.
How many blog posts should I post to win a prize?
It is important to have regular entries to win a prize. However, the focus is on quality over quantity to ensure you attract and keep readers for your blog posts. Click to read the TeachingEnglish Blogathon guidelines and criteria.
Is there a word limit in the blog posts?
The word limit is 250 words for each blog post.
Does my English have to be perfect?
Your English doesn’t have to be perfect but please make sure you use the correct words and grammar. You can use the spell checker in Microsoft Word to check spelling and grammar in your blog posts.
What should I write about?

It is up to you. Your posts should be relevant to teaching and learning English. Have a look at the following topics that might inspire you to come up with your own topic. You don’t have to choose from this list.

  • Dealing effectively with disruptive students
  • Keeping teacher talking time down, so students speak more than we do
  • Networking with colleagues nationally and internationally
I don’t want to write a blog. Can I just leave comments?
Yes, you can. You can be a reader by leaving comments and supporting your colleagues. There will be prizes for the readers who engage with bloggers, elicit lively conversation, pose questions and put forward eloquent arguments.
