The British Council ELT Course Parts 1 and 2 aims to develop a more critical awareness of teaching English, to encourage a reflective approach, to raise awareness and motivation of new approaches, to consolidate and extend teachers’ current knowledge of teaching English. Our workshops are very practical in nature and involve you from the start to discuss and share your ideas, views and experience of teaching English. Our programme encourages you to reflect on your teaching and explore new ways of looking at what happens in the EFL classroom with a critical eye.

Course Outline

ELT Course Part 1 covers 20 sessions each lasting 2.5 hours

ELT Course Part 2 covers 20 sessions each lasting 2.5 hours

The total ELT course is 100 hours long

Who can participate?

If you are a qualified teacher of English with some or limited experience teaching adults who would like to upgrade your teaching skills.

If you are an experienced teacher and are not familiar with the communicative methodology and would like to gain an understanding of its principles and practice.

If you are an experienced teacher and want to refresh/update your knowledge of teaching theory in the communicative method, you can join the British Council ELT Course Part 1 and 2 development workshops.
