The Young Creative Design Entrepreneur of Turkey awarded to Mehmet Gözetlik!
The winner of the British Council’s Young Design Entrepreneur Competition was announced on 23 June at an award ceremony held at İstanbul Moda Academy.
This was the third time that the British Council Turkey organised the Young Design Entrepreneur (IYDE) award in partnership with İstanbul Technical University, Department of Industrial Product Design and Industrial Designers Society of Turkey (ETMK). Short listed finalists presented their experiences in design sector and future plans to the jury that included Prof.Dr. H. Alpay Er (Head of Department of Industrial Product Design, İTÜ), Michael Webster (Associate Director, Seymourpowell), Özlem Devrim (Chairman, Designers Society of Turkey, ETMK), Özlem Tuna (Designer), Seyhan Özdemir (Co-partner, Autoban).
Mehmet Gözetlik is the Executive Art Director and Co-Founder of Antrepo, a design collective. He has been building his career on creating works for a great number of various brands and purposes including product designs, pop art posters, user interface icons etc. For further information about the winner, you can visit his website.

As the winner of Turkey, he will visit the UK in September to participate in the sector tour and the international competition All the expenses of the tour will be covered by the British Council and Gözetlik will undertake a common programme with the other finalists where they will have a chance to take part in valuable networking both with key UK design sector partners and amongst their IYDE peers. The participants will also have the opportunity to attend various events and shows as part of London Design Festival including 100% Design and Tent London.
The British Council’s Young Creative Entrepreneur (YCE) programme connects a global network of innovative emerging entrepreneurs in the creative sector. It champions those who find new ways to take creative work to audiences and communities and highlights the wider social, economic and cultural benefits in doing so. The focus of the programme is to catalyse future collaboration and business between the UK and participating countries around the world.
