The Pera Museum is proud to present for the first time in İstanbul a unique selection of ceramics from the globally renowned ceramics collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum , one of the oldest and most outstanding art institutions in Great Britain.
With its 150-year-old history, as well as its rich and diverse collections, Victoria and Albert Museum is one of the leading art and design museums in the world. Based on the Ceramics Collections at the Victoria and Albert Museum, this exhibition features masterpieces of world ceramic art from the ancient world to the present day and explores how cultural exchanges and new technological discoveries dramatically changed ceramic history. Ranging from early ceramics of China, to luxury wares of Renaissance courts, from İznik tiles to Sèvres porcelains, the 115 outstanding and unique examples of world ceramics will be displayed at Istanbul Pera Museum as of May 15th. The exhibition was previously held in Korea, Germany and Syria.
Exhibition is in partnership with The World Collections Programme, the British Council and The Headley Trust.
