The British Council is delighted to work with Istanbul Tanpinar Literature Festival for a second year and, in collaboration with our global partner Hay Festivals, we are continuing our series of exchanges between British and Turkish writers as part of the Cultural Programme for Turkey Market Focus at The London Book Fair 2013.

We are bringing some of the most exciting contemporary writers in the UK to audiences across Istanbul and Ankara to share ideas with international peers.

Our programme includes the UK's best-selling crime writer Ian Rankin, best-selling novelist Louis de Bernières, Booker nominated writer Ned Beauman and two leading children’s writers, Sophie Smiley and Guy Bass. Through cultural dialogue and debate at ITEF these UK writers will build lasting relationships with Turkish writers and readers.

Most of the activities are open to public. Our authors are appearing at these events between 1-5 October.
