The work of Andreas Fogarasi Panorama is open to visit in Eminönü, after Kadıköy |
Panorama: Right of View, the work of the wold-famous artist Andreas Fogarasi inspired by the 19th century panorama idea, tries to describe the panoramic city of İstanbul with a new interpretation of the panorama.
Fogarasi declares his impressions about the city as: “İstanbul is many cities at once, consisting of very different urban structures and ways of life. This complexity asks for an artistic intervention that is similarly complex and multifaceted, getting inspirations from the past, the present and the future of the city”.
This work exhibited between January 15 - March 15, 2011 in Kadıköy and that took part in the wold media is now placed in Eminönü, a neighbourhood appropriate with the work’s panoramic content and providing an open public space for crowded visitors. You wouldn’t pass over the Panorama that is visible from many different parts of İstanbul.

Summarizing three years of the project: My City Book
My City Book is the final publication of the My City project, which was conceived and implemented by the British Council in collaboration with Anadolu Kültür and Platform Garanti Contemporary Art Center. The book is published in Turkish and English.
The My City project includes projects that took place in the public spaces of five project cities and simultaneously organised education programme and guest artist programme in six different cities in Europe. The artists’ research activities in these cities and the kinds of relationships they established with their cities constituted the most important aspect of their projects. It is sought to render these processes and the multi-dimensional experience that this project enabled visible in the book. The artists who have completed their projects in five different cities and the six artists who have participated in the guest artist programme in Europe told their My City experiences. The articles written by the curators who have initially nominated these artists for the project have explored the links between the artists’ previous works and the works they produced for the My City project. While Pace Children’s Arts Center, which designed and implemented the educational programme has commented on a different field of experience in the participating cities, the documentary produced and directed by Nuran Bayer and her production team in collaboration with TRT has also contributed to the wider reception of the project.
