On Thursday and Friday 7th & 8th December, a two-day training seminar took place at The British Council. The seminar was jointly hosted by the British Council and the Ministry of Education as part of the NENA (Near East and North Africa) RELT (Regional English Language Teaching) Project. In attendance were secondary level teacher trainers from 13 different regions of Tunisia, and the two workshop facilitators, Hela Nafti (ELT School’s Inspector, Ministry of Education) and Andrea Marsh (ELT Co-ordinator, British Council).
The seminar was designed to assist the teacher trainers in cascading the RELT project workshops to teachers in their region, and to discuss ways of evaluating the impact of the project with them.
Teacher trainers also had the opportunity to observe British Council teachers giving lessons to both adult and young learner classes.
Two of the teacher trainers, Mohamed Arbi Ksouri and Jaafar Miladi, who had previously attended the RELT Project Hornby Summer School in Morocco in July, delivered sessions on ‘Learner Styles’ and ‘Training Challenges’.
