The aim of the prestigious British Chevening Scholarship scheme is to bring to the UK present and future leaders, decision-makers and opinion-formers. The British Council, in collaboration with the British High Commission administers these awards in Trinidad and Tobago.

Every year, the British High Commission is in a position to offer a limited number of Chevening Scholarships for study in the UK.
The scholarships are for one-year postgraduate study at a British university and are offered to potential leaders, decision-makers and opinion formers who are likely to contribute to the political, economic and social development of Trinidad & Tobago.
We are now inviting applications for the 2009/10 academic year.
Full awards (covering tuition costs, airfare, accommodation and maintenance) are being offered to the very best individuals who wish to cover a course of study in the following themes or subjects:

Climate Change (including climate change and sustainability, and economics of climate change) |

Energy (particularly renewable energy but including governance of energy industry) |
Eligibility
All applicants must:
- Be citizens of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
- Have by July 2008, a relevant Bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution.
- Be under 35 on 1 October 2008
- Not have studied or spent a significant period of time in the United Kingdom before
