The Cambridge English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Examinations are provided by Cambridge ESOL, a department of the University of Cambridge. They are recognised by thousands of employers throughout the world.
The range of Cambridge ESOL examinations includes internationally known certificates and assessment services such as the Certificate of Proficiency in English, Certificate in Advanced English, First Certificate in English, Preliminary English Test and Key English Test, as well as the Business English Certificates and the Business Language Testing Service. All of these examinations assess the ability to communicate effectively in English and cover all four language skills – Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking – so that they provide the ideal preparation for learners who need to use English in their professional lives.
The Cambridge ESOL examinations are linked to the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE) levels for language assessment and to the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
