Empowering the Balkans

Prishtina, Kosovo
26-29 March 2012

During a three day summit event in Prishtina, TN2020 members and other young people from the Balkans came together to discuss critical issues facing the region that span the four sectors of: government/policy-making, business, civil-society, and media.

The Balkans is home to a new generation of up-and-coming students, policy makers, innovators and entrepreneurs, who demonstrate huge optimism and talent in their fields. With this in mind, Empowering the Balkans brought together young leaders and TN2020 members for a single conference, which promoted the exchange of knowledge and ideas, and supported sustainable change across the four sectors.

Through a series of interactive workshops and presentations, this diverse and talented pool of participants had the opportunity to network with one another and leverage their combined skills, passions, and expertise to develop creative approaches to shared challenges in their home countries in the Balkans and beyond.

Working with the British Council office in Prishtina, TN2020 collaborated with the Government of Kosovo to produce the event, recognizing the critical role that younger generations play in developing new ideas to advance their societies.
