Why we are top of the class The British Council is acknowledged as a leader around the world in English language teaching. All our teachers are native speakers and highly qualified and experienced in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
The professionalism of our teachers and quality in the classroom are what our students value most.
Qualifications Our teachers meet the highest international standards and qualifications. As a minimum, all teachers have a certificate level qualification in English language teaching from an internationally recognised and externally validated awarding body. Many also have advanced English teaching qualifications at Diploma and Masters level.
These are the leading international qualifications in the Teaching English as a Foreign Language profession. They provide teachers with both the practical skills and theoretical knowledge to teach effectively.
Teaching experience Teachers at the British Council have at least 2000 hours of post-qualification teaching experience, both in Thailand and around the world.
We recruit our teachers on the basis of the qualifications and experience described above to ensure we provide the best teaching for our students.
Continuous development Our teachers all follow individual development plans to maintain the high quality of our teaching. Development includes weekly training sessions on different aspects of teaching, providing opportunities and funding to achieve higher teaching qualifications, observing colleagues’ lessons and being observed and getting feedback from experts.
We are also a training centre for the Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching Young Learner Extension (CELTYL), and the Cambridge / International House Distance Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults (DELTA).
We are proud of our team of teachers and believe that we offer our students the best learning experience.
At the British Council, learning is in the hands of the best professionals in the world of English Language Teaching.
