Thai schools are now invited to form a team of students and to register their team with the British Council. Please download and complete the registration form and send it back to us with a VDO clip in which the four members of your team speak in English for up to 7 minutes on the following topic:
Why does your team want to enter the Pitch competition, and which is your team’s favourite British football club and why?
The 20 short-listed teams will be announced on 31 October 2009 and invited to go on to the next stage, the online competition. The short-listing process for the online competition will be based on each of the teams' creativity and how well they present their ideas.
Deadline: 6 November 2009
Each team should consist of four senior high school students and have at least one member of staff from your school, acting as a ‘mentor’ during the competition.
Who’s in the team?
Teams should have a range of skills and do not necessarily have to have an interest in football, although it might help. It is recommended that each team should include members who have skills, or are keen to develop skills, in the following areas:
English
The task and contact with the UK expert team will be in English and so it’s important to make sure some members of your team can read, understand and present information in English.
A member of your institution’s teaching staff will need to act as an advisor and work with the team – but students need to use your own ideas and skills to be successful. It would be advisable if the mentor also has a good level of English.
Registration deadline

You will receive a confirmation email if your team has been accepted. A unique username and password will be provided to all team members to allow login to The Pitch learning platform. The online learning platform is where the briefs for each of the online stages will be available to download and access will be given to the discussion forum, where teams will be able to ask advice and gain feedback from the experts at Coventry University. It also includes a private area for submitting your team’s responses to the briefs.
Please read the terms and conditions before entering.
