The Pitch challenges senior high school teams from across Thailand to compete to be the best management team of a fictional professional British football club, Covchester Rovers.  

The Pitch will help you develop the skills, creativity and teamwork that international employers are looking for.  You will also get the chance to work with Coventry University - the first Business School in the UK to focus on the business side of sport - as well as Education UK and the British Council – sharing in a unique, international educational experience.

During the competition, teams will face the challenges that football clubs would normally face in a season, as well as having to plan for the future development and success of the club.  Teams will be given a series of briefs that will ask them to: decide on a new shirt sponsor for the club, sign a new player and address whether the club will continue to play in its current ground in the future.  These stages of the competition will take place online, with UK sports management experts from Coventry University available to give advice and feedback to the teams to help progress their thinking.

The final stage of the competition will take place in Bangkok, where the four best performing teams from the online stages will be invited to take part in the live final. At the final the short listed teams will present details of the work they have carried out so far to the Covchester Rovers Board and an invited audience. During the Board Meeting the teams will also be given an additional brief, which they will be asked to respond to and present their findings to the Board later in the day. At the end of the Board Meeting the winning team will be announced and an awards ceremony will take place.
