Conditional offer of employment
Conditions which have to be met before a contract is valid

If you are interviewed and selected we will make you a conditional offer. A conditional offer means that we would like to offer you a contract to work with us on the condition that the following requirements are met:

Satisfactory medical clearance including any necessary inoculations for yourself and for accompanying members of your family before you leave for post
Appropriate visa clearance for yourself and for accompanying members of your family before you leave for post
Three satisfactory professional references are received for you, including that of your current or most recent employer before you leave for post. We reserve the right to ask for more referees if deemed necessary.
We see your original academic and professional qualifications before you leave for post (preferably at interview)
We see your current passport in this office before you leave for post (preferably at interview)
You return a signed copy of the child protection declaration to this office before you leave for post
You return a signed copy of your contract of employment to the Recruitment Unit before you leave for post.

Medical Clearance
This is to ensure that everyone is medically fit before they travel and are eligible to join our medical insurance scheme.

Some countries require compulsory HIV antibody testing, which must be negative, before certain types of visa and working or residence permits are issued. We do not support these policies but we are obliged to comply with a foreign government's immigration policy. Under these circumstances, medical examinations and confidentiality are governed by our personnel policy on AIDS and HIV antibody status.

Visa Clearance
As part of our Equal Opportunities policy, we seek the right person for the right job, irrespective of nationality. We welcome applications from anyone who meets our minimum requirements and those of the advertised vacancy.

However, there may be occasions where foreign government employment and visa restrictions in a country disallow an offer of employment. You should read the job description of the vacancies you wish to apply for to check if restrictions apply.

Child Protection Policy: Applicants who are offered a contract of employment must present a certificate of Enhanced Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) in the UK or an equivalent body in another country, where possible. We provide application forms for those teachers who have not previously applied for CRB clearance.
