The purpose of Delphe is the development of human capital and skills , ie capacity building, in the 25 bilateral focus countries identified by DFID. Higher education has demonstrated its potential to make a key contribution in the area of capacity building and DELPHE will build on this resource and the role which higher education can play in their wider communities.
The grant from DfID is mainly used to support short- term professional visits between the link institutions. The visits can last between a few weeks to a few months. Some money is available for books and equipment to support the links.
The deadline for applications for the third round is 21st January 2008, Results expected March 2008.
