The British Council, founded in 1934, is the United Kingdom's international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. We work in over 100 countries and territories across the world to create international opportunities for the people of the UK and other countries and builds trust between them.

British Council Taipei was established in 1996 in Taiwan. Our services are as follows:  

• We offer free, professional and impartial information about studying in the UK.
  
  
• We organise collaborative events and exchanges in education, arts, science and English language teaching.
  
  
• We work with the Ministry of Education and local Education Bureaus to facilitate international exchange among schools and universities, and to deliver training, workshops and seminars for English teachers and school principals.
  
  
• We provide high quality English language courses which meet the specific learning needs of learners in Taiwan.
  
  
• We offer access to IELTS and other UK examinations.
